Programs & Services
The San Joaquin Housing Authority offers many services to aid it's clients in their pursuit of self-sufficiency.
The links below offer a description of these services and stories of their success'.
- Family Self-Sufficiency Program - The FSS program is designed to assist San Joaquin Housing Authority clients to become independent of public assistance by providing job placement along with the proper education and training necessary to remain gainfully employed.
- Supportive Services Centers - The Authority maintains Centers located in each Public Housing Project. Each Center contains a complete Computer Lab with Internet Access, as well as a variety of Job Placement and Job Skills Development programs.
- Youth Build San Joaquin - In YouthBuild programs, low income young adults, ages 17-24, work toward completion of a high school diploma or GED; learn construction skills while building affordable housing; develop leadership skills by becoming involved in their community, and secure apprenticeships as well as jobs within the construction industry after graduating from the program. YouthBuild provides a comprehensive program that focuses on non-traditional approaches to education and paid on-the-job training.
